Germany Trip May 18

We started off today with the bike tour,  which I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would! It’s cool to be in a city that’s so easy to bike around. After that, we took the train to Amsterdam, which I’m a little torn on. It’s less interesting than Rotterdam architecturally, and the smell [...]

The trip from Munich to Rotterdam was a trek and was most of the day unfortunately. Once in Rotterdam, we got to explore the city and try Dutch foods! Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and even gave us a cheese shop recommendation.

Day 8 – Aaron Osterman

The main events for today were a bike tour of Rotterdam and a scavenger hunt set up across Amsterdam. My favorite part of the bike tour was getting to go through an underground tunnel that connected two different parts of Rotterdam that were separated by water. I had no idea something like that existed but [...]

Day 8 – Scavenger Hunt in Amsterdam

Today’s day started off with a wonderful ride through Rotterdam. Though I was a little sleepy, I thoroughly enjoyed the morning workout that paired nicely with educating views of Rotterdam. Afterwards was my favorite part of the day: the scavenger hunt. I felt well-suited for this challenge as I’m very familiar with traveling via public [...]

Logan Lippert- Day 8 Rotterdam

Today, we started with a bike tour of the port of Rotterdam, along with a few other historical parts of the city related to the port, following the progression of the different docks and ports over the span of the city's history. Seeing it on a bike allowed us to explore more of the city [...]

I loved the bike tour of Rotterdam! It was very interesting to explore the city, especially the port. You don't get to see views like that in Indiana so it was very fun to experience it. The scavenger hunt in Amsterdam was a great time (maybe because my team won). I really liked the architecture [...]

Travel Day Tate DeLaRosa

The travel day sucked until it didn't. On 3 hrs of sleep, my bag broke when it already had a bum wheel and Dusseldorf smelled like pee. I slept it off on the bus ride and then it was great. Port and cheese, water taxi, second dinner and doner was great. Turned in early and [...]

day 7 – Daniel Hodson

Rotterdam is a very interesting city. The culture is noticeably different the minute you get off the train. I talked to the tour guide about the homeless issue and its root causes. I learned that price of living has been increasing which has lead to Homeless problems. I also learned that gig work in Rotterdam [...]

Day 7 Post – Nathan Hession

Day 7 Post – Nathan Hession

Yesterday was a long day of travel to get to Rotterdam from Munich, about 9 hours combined on the bus and train. When we finally arrived in Rotterdam, we took a food tour where we tried out local Stroop waffle and friet with mayonnaise. We also had a walking tour alongside it, so we got [...]

Day 7 – Jack Wollenweber

I went to Amsterdam last year, and I expected Rotterdamn to be very similar, this was not the case. This city was level during the blitzkriegs of WWII. This unique circumstance gave architects a blank canvas to build their wildest creations, without having to worry about preserving history like most of Europe. My favorite building [...]
