Day 12. I learned how early places close compared to America. At a local food court in Rotterdam, they close at 8pm but here in the Netherlands that means they close BY 8pm they stopped serving food at 7:45. In America typically they would stop serving food at 8 and be open until people leave.

Dominic Fisher day 11 5.21.25

We started off our day with a boat tour of the port. This included the residence areas and the industrial port. While we did a bike tour similar this boat view let us see and learn things that were not possible from land. It was cool seeing the cargo port in action. We then went [...]

Day 11, May 21 – Dennis Browning

We gathered a little later today for a boat tour of the port in Rotterdam. It was interesting to see all the boats gathered so tightly together, and it makes me wonder how frequently they have miscommunications that put one boat at risk of collision with another boat. All though it was a little chilly on the boat it was definitely one of my favorite [...]

Wednesday May 21st-Sydney Colglazier

Starting off the day with a boat tour was nice. I love being out on the water, but this felt like we had already seen a big part of what we already saw. We did get to see a little bit more of the big barge ships and how those are loaded up. Later on [...]

Misty Snyder – May 21

The Rotterdam Port tour via boat was a fantastic extenstion to the bike tour we had on Monday. The ports and the people who work in them have always been the heart and soul of Rotterdam. Learning about how technology is transforming the types of cargo moving through the ports, while reshaping the way the [...]
