Today was definitely my favorite day of this trip so far! Our tour guide was amazing with showing us around the city of Delft and Kinderdijk. The windmills are a must see and the strawberries and local cheese was a must try!
May 20th – Mercator Bell
The windmills of Kinderdijk highlighted the intelligence of early engineering. The windmills are a remarkable example of how people used technology to manage water and transform uninhabitable land into fertile farmland. It was nice to see how these historic structures that stand as symbols of Dutch engineering.

today we visited the town of Delft, and saw historical Dutch windmills. The historical trading status of Delft made the city important as it was the main hub that goods flower through in Europe. The routes created trying to establish and maintain trade help shape the Dutch empire for better or for worse.
