Today we went to Reutlingen University to be taught by some of the experts in different fields of technology in the school. We started off with an early departure to the university taking the bus and then meeting up in their Industry 4.0 facility with a wide range of machines and items available. Today was one of the longer days but definitely the most interesting we had lectures from several different professors and graduate students about topics ranging from AI sight, using data to train AI and the flow of real life production facilities. We were able to model a mock factory and discover some of the challenges relating to timing and workload. One intercultural experience I had was when we were grabbing lunch at the university cafeteria the lunch lady that was operating the payment counter did not speak English but the interaction worked well using non-verbal cues and gestures. Tomorrow we are catching a train to Munich for an exciting day of sightseeing!
