3/13 – Ryan Feller

Today was spent at Reutlingen University, where we learned about how factories can optimize their production line by divvying up tasks that take similar amounts of time to workers, so that each worker can complete one task each without bottlenecks. The students of Reutlingen seemed much more social at lunch than Purdue students, which was something that many members of our group noticed. Towards the end of the day, we had the opportunity to learn more about what each of the master’s students at Reutlingen’s work was on. Stations included a bionic suit, a robotic arm, a way of assigning parts a unique “fingerprint” and more.
