The group today went on a walking tour of the city. It was very informative and showed perspective of the difference between high income area and low. The most interesting part was being able to go to the top of Saint Church which used to be the tallest building in the world. However this Church was destroyed during WW2 when Allied bombers dropped fire bombs on the city burning large portions of the city down to the foundations. At the top of the still standing spire of the Church there where pictures taken from there after the bombs in the 40s and it was truly horrible to look at the city now and see pictures of what it used to be then what the aftermath of the bombs were. Down underneath the Church there was a museum and there was a video playing showing the bombs drop and there where older Germans there watching with deep grief on their faces. War has great cost and effects for years afterwards.
