Germany Trip May 20th

This was the final day of the trip activities! We had a tour of the wonderful town of Delft, which I found to be beautiful. I split off from the group for a little while to go shopping at some nearby record stores, where I got to talk to some of the locals. We then headed to see the Windmills of Kinderdijk, which was also neat. The welcome center had a small café/restaurant with some delicious pastries.

We went back to the hotel for a while, where I initially planned to go shopping, but I quickly fell asleep as soon as I touched my pillow. I was slightly underwhelmed by the boat tour that followed. Part of this was due to the extremely windy weather, which made viewing from any of the outside areas uncomfortable. The guided part of the tour was also confined to only a few quiet speakers that had to alternate between Dutch and English.

The boat tour was the last official activity of the trip, but we all went to a nearby bar afterward to celebrate with some of the students we met at Erasmus University. We even played a little trivia game where we split up into smaller groups, though our team unfortunately placed second to last!

This has been an incredible trip, and I’m definitely planning on visiting Germany and the Netherlands again in the future.
