Logan Lippert- Day 5 Munich

Today, we started with a walking tour of Munich, which included tons of really cool stops. One good stop was the English Garden, which had so many cool walking trails and lookout points, but also a river that has an artificial wave people surf on! It was interesting to hear the history of the surfing spot and that people will even go there in the dead of winter. Another fun spot was the Viktualienmarkt, which was a large open-air market full of food, souvenirs, and local produce. Later, we got to see the BMW Museum & showroom, which had lots of historic and rare vehicles to see, including Elvis’s BMW that he purchased while serving in Germany in the Army and some model Rolls Royces. Lastly, we ended the day with Laundry, where we got to meet a few other Americans: one student from the University of Georgia and one older gentleman travelling through Europe. It’s always interesting running into other Americans on the street, and getting to know their stories and what they’re doing in Europe.
