After another filling German breakfast we set off for Allianz arena, where we we greeted by some of the students from the Munich University of Applied Sciences. We learned that they were big fans of TSV 1860 Munich, the greatest rival of FC Bayern Munich. Allianz reminded me a lot of the large football fields in the states with huge proportions, many concessions, and great seating.
After a lunch in Munich, we attempted to meet for the Bavarian Palace tour. Finding each-other was quite difficult, as we were instructed to meet at “the courtyard”, and later counted 13 of them on the property. After finding each other, we began our tour of the Residence, a place where the many Bavarian rulers lived and did their biddings. It was very eclectic, ranging from 16th century renaissance to 19th century Neoclassicist and Historicist styles. I found it interesting how the exhibits seamlessly went from real artifacts to reconstructed ones (due to the WWII bombings).
