Day 12: Netherlands

Today was fun! We got to tour Delft, another city annexed by Rotterdam. The city has an older vibe to it as it’s buildings are as they would be in old Dutch cities. There was water around some of the buildings and bridges connecting one area from another. All the buildings were made out of brick, and were only a couple stories tall.

I got to see the inside of the church towards the center of Delft. It had over 378 steps and was quite the walk, but it was worth it. It was a bit uncomfortable being that high and seeing the city from so high up. I also got to see the inside of the church on the floor which was also interesting.

We went to tour windmills next. It was a beautiful walk, but I didn’t get very far into it. The tour guide for the windmills canceled on us. However, it is a work holiday today on 5/26/2022 in the Netherlands. In fact, Delft city streets were pretty much empty until we left around 11:00 am. There was a community run that was being set up through the city square in front of the church for a 5k run.
