Today was spent at Erasmus University and the SS Rotterdam, where we were given a brief history of free maritime trade and its impact on the Dutch economy. It was interesting to analyze complex global supply chain challenges, specifically looking at modern conflicts like the tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and how we are still asking the same questions from the 1500’s. At the end of day we toured the SS Rotterdam. I enjoyed looking at the decor and architecture of the ship but I wish we learned more about its history.
