Day 6 – Aaron Osterman

The main event for today was a tour of Dachau Concentration Camp. Despite how depressing it was to think about, I’m really glad that I got to experience such an important piece of history. Getting to walk around and see things for myself was an entirely different experience than reading about it or seeing pictures. I also got to learn a lot of things that I had no idea about, like how a lot of notable corporations that are still relevant today actually helped to fund several different camps. After the tour, some Purdue alumni living in Germany joined us for lunch. I found it interesting to hear about what Purdue was like when they were still in school and how it compares to today. They also had a lot of insight of what it’s like living and working in Germany.
