Day 5 – Jack Wollenweber

Day 5 – Jack Wollenweber

The day commenced with a delightful walking tour of Munich led by a charming local guide. Among the highlights of the tour was Munich Central Park, affectionately known as the English Garden. Despite its natural appearance, this park was meticulously designed in true German style. It boasted streams, wooded areas, walking paths, meadows, structures, and, of course, beer gardens. We had the pleasure of meeting a group of traditional Bavarian musicians who were dressed in authentic Bavarian attire and even posed for some memorable photos with us. I can confidently say this is the best park in the world.

After some more city site-seeing, we went to the BMW museum. Here I got to see more of the hero cars I’d driven in video games and seen on TV. The museum even included BMW’s early machinery, which if you don’t know includes motorcycles, airplanes, and boats. My favorite was this e36 M3.

After the museum tour, we had some time on our own to explore or rest. I, of course, opted for the first, and set out to the thrift shops in search of some used German clothing, perhaps a lederhosen. Though unsuccessful, I enjoyed navigating the public transportation on my own, and seeing the city on my own agenda.
