Seeing the extent of Stuttgart’s post-war reconstruction was unexpected. Realizing just how much of the city was actually destroyed makes the modern landscape feel much more significant. I was surprised to learn that the U.S. and Russia observe different end dates for WWII, which highlights how much perspective shifts based on where you are.
