One of the most intensive days of the trip so far was followed up by one of the least intensive. We started late today, making our way out to the 1972 Olympic Village set in Munich. After eyeing these buildings with roofs suspended by large cables, I think I can understand why people at the time were skeptical of their make and quality. Though, they still stand today, over 50 years later. We also saw the BMW Welt museum, which was fun to look at, although it was not a major tour like Porsche or Mercedes-Benz. After that, we met up with students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Everyone seemed to get along with them rather well, and we met a few of them again for dinner and hung out after. They’re very cool people and it was fun to meet them, though I am certainly too tame for them in many respects. It was neat to compare the university experience between the United States and Germany. I think my school experience is closer to their’s than a main campus student, as my costs are relatively low (not as low as the Germans’), I do not live in a campus-provided dorm, and there is a small commute to school for many of them, as I do. Overall, this was probably the most “fun” day we’ve had so far and it was a pleasure to get to know everyone better.
I randomly stopped into this cathedral today and I thought it was beautiful, so here you go.
