Today we toured the Porsche factory, specifically the 911 line. In addition to that we also toured the Mercedes-Benz factory. Both factories use similar concepts but Mercedes was much more automated using more assistive machines. Porsche is more hand-built/manual but still uses smart manufacturing concepts. Comparing and contrasting these two automotive manufacturing lines gives a sense of how each manufacturer believes in how their product should be made.
