Today we went to dachau which is a historical part of the Holocaust and the tragedies that occurred there. As our tour guide took us around it was an eerie feeling walking around in the same places thousands were murdered. Our tour guide explained how it was his mission to educate people about the things that happened at that camp. There’s a “German guilt” almost where the people here highlight the mistakes it made as a country to learn from them and make sure it happens again. This feels different from the states as Slavery is a huge aspect of our history but it’s taught in a watered down sense and made to seem as if it were a long time ago.
