This day started quiet early as we had to get from Reutlingen all the way to Munich. Though tired and with heavy eyes, we were still able to get a lot out of our tour of BMW. Located in the heart of the Olympikzentrum and nestled in between neighboring homes and residencies, this is the smallest BMW manufacturing facility in the world. To see their manufacturing processes in it’s totality was nice to see, from the stamping process all the way up to the painting of the vehicle. Something that has been unique with the majority of the facilities that we’ve visited to this point is the fact that the vehicles are made to order and each require a distinct set of elements to be included. The painting process was odd to me, as it was completely automated, and allowed multiple colors to be used within seconds of each other due to their water pressure system.
