Today, our main attraction was a tour of the town hall. A group of us went out earlier and explored other parts of the town hall that were not covered by the tour. My favorite part of this self exploring was finding the ruins of St. Nikoli Cathedral. The Cathedral was built in the 12th century and stood until the 1800’s. In 1845, the Great Fire of Hamburg burnt the church down and it was rebuilt right after the fire. After its reconstruction, it stood until 1943 but then it got hit but Allie bombings. After the bombing the only thing that stood was the steeple and it was never rebuilt after that.
