Mercedes was a really great experience. Seeing the line really opened my eyes towards what maximum efficiency was. Over 5 conveyor belts moving extremely slow, but always moving. The factory consists of many sections with automated robots to keep simple tasks simple and fast. A cool section of the line was the install for the dash, which a robot held the entire dashboard and laser aligned with the cars front driver side door. With clearance of under a half inch the entire dashboard and steering column slid through the door and into its final resting place.
After Mercedes, we did a stop and go tour which took us around culturally centered places in town. From Stadiums, to vineyards, to the Mercedes Museum, our group got to appreciate all of Stuttgart from a great view.
