Today we did BMW and met with the college in Munich. One of the students at the university was getting his masters in engineering and business which makes me a little more confident in my major, IBE, which is still unproven on where in industry it belongs as it covers essentially the same topics. The BMW facility was impressive in showing what can be done with robotics and automation but at the same time it made me a bit sad because jobs are being taken by robots. Even if some more technical roles are created to keep up with maintenance it is nowhere near the volume of workers that used to be needed for car manufacturing and there are more people now who need jobs than when cars were first being invented.
