It was surreal to think that just this morning I was in another country. A small group and I had ventured out in Switzerland and woke up at 5 am to catch multiple trains that would inevitably lead us to Stuttgart. Arriving in Stuttgart by train was like a scene from a movie when the main character first gets introduced to the movie in dramatic fashion. After getting settled in and meeting with the rest of the group, we took a guided tour through Stuttgart, learning about its rich history and origins as well as getting to see its diverse architecture. After the conclusion of our tour, we took a moment with Dr. Jones to reflect on our identities and what made us unique. To finish off the night, we had a delicious dinner filled with unique appetizers and a dish I had never tried! Although I did not catch the name of the dish. It did include an entrée of fried pork chops with a side of a starchy potato that was almost reminiscent of a mochi ball all drizzled in gravy. To finish up the night, the group and I bought gelato at a place nearby and headed home. I can call that a first successful day in Stuttgart.
