I have a great first expression on Germany. When I landed in Munich, the first thing that impressed me is how things are more organized than United States. When I walked out of the airport, the taxis are all Mercedes which was also surprising. I took a train from Munich Central station to Stuttgart, i found it to be fairly convenient (comparing the train operation to China, I think China has a better public transportation organization). We had a great walking tour that experienced us with the local history and buildings. The one thing that shocked me most is how most of the transportation, including the interstate train are on a “honor based” operational system where people buy tickets on their own and there are no one at the station checking for tickets.
