BMW Munich was the first BMW plant in the world and continues to be their flagship assembly plant. Since the city has grown around BMW, they were forced to expand their operations up rather than out. BMW Munich, is the only assembly facility to have operations on 6 levels of the facility. Sometime in 2021, BMW Munich will be the only plant in the world to fully assemble a car with 3 different motor options (gas, hybrid, electric) through the I4 car line.
